Tim-bor is a natural insecticide and fungicide which is an effective treatment for wood (and wood-foam compositestructural components) to kill and prevent infestations of decay fungiincluding white rot, brown rot (i.e. Poria) and wet rots. Tim-bor isalso effective for the prevention and control of wood destroyinginsects such as, but not limited to the following organisms:
"False" Powderpost Beetles
Deathwatch and Furniture Beetles
Old House Borers, Longhorn Beetles
Bark and Timber Beetles
Tim-bor can be applied as a solution, foam or dust for woodtreatment against wood destroying organisms and as a solution or dustfor general insect control. Tim-bor, applied as a solution or foam towood, will penetrate into the wood to various depths dependent on themoisture in the wood and the wood species. The active ingredient doesnot break down, therefore as normal moisture changes occur in the wood,Tim-bor is always available to be drawn deeper into the wood over time, providing long lasting protection. When used as a dust or as a crackand crevice solution, Tim-bor is not repellent to general pests.
The mode of action for Tim-bor is that of a slow acting stomachpoison to insects and a contact poison to decay fungi. As wooddestroying insects or their larvae feed on, tunnel in and/or digestwood, they accumulate the active ingredient into their systems. Generalinsects such as cockroaches, ants, crickets, etc. will ingest Tim-borthrough their normal preening habits after contacting deposits. Theaccumulation of the boron into their systems acts to poison the insect.
Tim-bor is also active against other general pests likecockroaches, ants, silverfish, earwigs, and crickets. Tim-bor powdercan be applied directly to insect harborage areas or in solution as acrack and crevice application. When the insect crawls over treatedareas, the tiny particles of powder adhere to the insect's body.Tim-bor is ingested as the insect attempts to clean the powder from itslegs and antennae.
Area covered by Tim-Bor = 5 gal per 1000 sq ft of wood surface.(at 10% solution, 1 lb per gallon of water / at 15% solution 1.5 lb pergallon of water)
