Infant Mattresses

The side-car type sleeper is such a great way to keep babies close while still in their own space. If only the companies would make them non-toxic! The vinyls they use are unhealthy and then they are treated with the same flame retardant chemicals as required by law. Now there are healthier options. This replacement mattress starts with  1 - 1/2" all natural latex surrounded by an organic wool outer that acts as a moisture barrier or built in puddle pad on one side with plain organic cotton on the other side.. (Regarding that existing support board in your side-car type sleeper: It needs the board and there is really no great solution for this! The best we have come up with is to wrap the existing mattress and board with polyethelene plastic (available at our local hardware store as roll plastic), tape it underneath, and place your organic mattress on top. This seals in the toxic vinyl and particle board so it does not offgas. We have not been able to find a formaldehyde free board that would not add a hundred dollars to the cost......)
