SAFE SEAL
A multi-use, water-based, low-gloss sealer for highly porous surfaces such as particle board, plywood, processed wood, and porous concrete. Used primarily to reduce toxic outgassing, in particular it is highly effective at sealing in formaldehyde outgassing from processed wood such as plywood, particle board, and pressed wood. Safecoat Safe Seal is virtually odorless on application and odorless once cured. For interior use.
For use on porous surfaces such as processed wood products, concrete, wood, new drywall, grout, and plaster. May be added to grout and plaster to prevent outgassing and to add strength to the mix. Test surfaces first in inconspicuous areas to be sure product absorbs into surfaces completely. Excellent at controlling formaldehyde emissions of open faced and faced fiberglass batt insulation - simply fog spray surfaces. Safecoat Safe Seal improves the adhesion and bonding power of adhesives and coatings applied to treated surfaces. For example, apply a thin coat to the slab and bottom of tile, before laying adhesive (in this application no cure period is necessary; the adhesive may be applied while SafeSeal is still tacky).
Coverage is approximately 350 square feet per gallon per coat depending on surface porousness. Recommended 2 - 3 coats.

Hard Seal
A multi-use, clear gloss sealer with the added benefit of wear resistance. - Used primarily on previously uncoated and unsealed woodwork, cabinetry, vinyl and porous tile.
- Produces a hard, durable, clear-gloss appearance.
- Can be used on uncoated surfaces or over existing paints, stains and colorfast wallpaper.
Safecoat Hard Seal is very effective at sealing in formaldehyde and other chemicals that can offgas from plywood and other materials. Unlike many sealers, it also provides mar resistance. It is for interior surfaces only. (for particleboard use Safe Seal.)
Correct application will slightly deepen the color of the existing surface.

SAFECHOICE 3-STEP CARPET CLEANING AND SEALING PRODUCTS
For those who do not have hardwood floors or non-toxic natural fiber carpets, Safecoat has developed the 3-step carpet cleaning and sealing process. It seals in those toxic chemicals before they offgas into your home or baby crawls on them, sticking those chemical-coated hands into her mouth.
Step 1 - you steam clean your carpet with carpet shampoo, sucking out some of the toxins.
Step 2 - has you work Carpet Seal down past the fibers into the backing - sealing in those poison glues.
Step 3 - you apply Lock Out to the top carpet fibers which also seals in offgassing chemicals as it protects your carpet.
These products are meant to be used together, though carpet shampoo may be used anytime to clean your carpets without the normal toxic shampoos. If your carpet is older, you may skip Step 2. We use these products in our house and find them a wonderful budget alternative to expensive wool carpeting.
CARPET SHAMPOO
Odorless, dye-free rug/carpet shampoo is non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-flammable and biodegradable. It will not irritate eyes or skin. It's a strong cleaner and odor remover, yet safe. Contains no harmful chemicals like ammonia, butyl ethers, alcohols, phosphates, caustics or acids. Can be used instead of toxic shampoos in steam cleaners. PRICES:

CARPET SEAL
Unique sealer designed to prevent the outgassing of harmful chemicals used in carpet backing. These chemicals include such known carcinogens as formaldehyde, toluene, benzene, xylene and styrene. Carpet Seal is odor-free and when properly applied, effectively blocks out gassing for up to five cleanings or one year. One quart covers about 75 square feet. One gallon covers about 300 square feet.

Lock Out
SafeChoice Lock Out is designed to perform two functions: first, to seal in the outgassing of harmful chemicals found in carpet fibers, and second to help repel dirt and stains. I have also seen this product used to seal and protect new toxic furniture.
