Buying an organic bed is a long term investment in your health as well as the well being of our planet. Standard mattresses are constucted of petroleum based foams and then soaked in an average of one and a half pounds of toxic chemicals. Many of these are known carcinogens and even have been banned in Europe. When we sleep, these chemicals offgas and we breathe them in. The damage to our bodies can be huge. They can affect our central nervous system, our internal organs, our brain function and more. If you are pregnant, these poisons will cross the placenta and go into your breastmilk. They have also been found in newborn baby's cord blood.
Our beds are made from Organic Cotton with Pure Grow Wool or Natural Latex tapped from rubber tree plants. Wool is a natural flame retardant, as well as antibacterial. It also regulates your body temperature - keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Latex is naturally mold, mildew and dustmite resistant.
